The Adare Manor Wedding Photography of Fiona and Adam Glazebrook
This real wedding blog post is all about an Adare Manor Wedding we photographed at the start of this year. One of the most spectacular venues we have ever photographed. We were also fortunate to be the wedding photographers for one their first ever weddings since they newly refurbished the Adare Manor Limerick. Not only was the venue beautiful, but Fiona and Adam are two of the nicest people we have met. To top it off the bride Fiona had incredible taste and style and I’ll let Fiona tell you the whole story of how they came to have an Adare Manor Wedding. This was one we will always remember. It is quite something to be part of an Adare Manor Wedding.
How we met…
We met in early 2012 while we were both on holidays in Airlie Beach. I lived in Sydney at the time and was on holidays with my friend. Adam lived in Brisbane at the time and was on holidays with his brother. I spotted Adam while sunbathing at the lagoon (it was a bit hard not to spot him as he was throwing a ball in between all groups of girls sunbathing while flexing his muscles lol) and I thought Hmm he’s a bit of alright 😊
I then spotted him the next night at the night club (Mumma Africa) and apparently joined him on the dance floor! We hit it off and spent the next two days together until the end of our holiday. We said our goodbyes but only a few hours later Adam was texting me saying he would love to come down to Sydney for a visit.
After a little hesitation I agreed and two weeks later he flew down to see me for the weekend… the rest is history! Little did we know we would be having an Adare Manor Wedding.
The proposal…
We got engaged over at Moreton Island, an Island off Brisbane, Australia. It was a complete surprise to me.
Adam and I love to take the boat out, but it is usually with a crowd of people as I am not a good deck hand! This Sunday morning Adam suggested we bring the boat over to Morten Island just the two of us.
So we packed some food and bubbles for a picnic. Once we unloaded the boat at Bribie I thought whow it’s really rough out. I suggested maybe we should go back but Adam was determined! We eventually made it after a crazy boat trip over. Adam suggested we climb to the top of one of the huge sand dunns to see the view over a glass of bubbles.
After a long climb uphill and a lot of moaning from me, we made it to the top. We sat down to enjoy the beautiful view and popped open our bottle of bubbles. After a little while Adam got down one knee and asked if I’d be with him forever and proposed. I said Yes! 😊
One thing that is incredible is the bridal preparation room. We got ready in the Manor for our Adare Manor Wedding and the room is fantastic.
The Engagement…
We had a short engagement (well some would say short of 6 months!). Our first big decision was to decide whether to get married in Australia where we live or in Ireland. Either way we knew family and friends would have to travel. We both decided on Ireland (to my delight). We threw a big engagement party in our Home in Oz for all our Friends and Family in Oz that couldn’t make the trip over to Ireland. It was an amazing night, celebrating with friends and family. We were so excited for the Wedding Day.
How did you choose your venue and plan your Adare Manor Wedding…
Once the location, Ireland, was agreed, I rang my sister Mary, Chief Organizer/Bridesmaid, to say we were getting married in Ireland at Christmas and would she assist with the wedding planning. The wedding venue brief was to find a Venue that had the Wow Factor!
I hadn’t a clue as I had only been to one wedding in Ireland (my sisters!). The First Venue Mary mentioned was ‘Adare Manor’, in Limerick. We both fell in love with the venue. We looked at other Venues but our hearts were set on Adare!
Next was to decide on the Date. We went with 2 January 2018 to allow our Australian Family and Friends to Spend Christmas in Australia and to travel to Ireland after Christmas.
As this was a Tuesday we had our pick of musicians, photographers, bands, photo booths and we went with the best! Everything just fell into place!
I was lucky enough to be able to go back to Ireland in October and visit Adare Manor with my Mum Helen, God Mother Triona and Sister Mary. We stayed for one night and had the menu tasting evening which was amazing. I knew then we had made the right choice and couldn’t wait for Adam and all our family and friends to see the venue.
To say it was out of this world is an understatement. I could not have been happier with the Venue. It was outstanding, The Décor, The Service, Everything was Beyond Expectations.
His suit…
His suit was custom made by M K Bale Brisbane.
My hair and make up…
One of my good friends Audrey O’Connor did our make up for the day, and did a fab job on all of us!
Audrey was so amazing she’s easy going, relaxed and an excellent makeup artist.
She knew exactly what I wanted and did it with perfection.
Shauna Lawlor did our hair and she did a fabulous job. Again, she was easy going calm and did a wonderful job of all our hair. Shauna was available to touch up my hair after a wind swept photo outside the Manor!
Both of the girls had a lot to do the morning of the wedding but did it with no bother to them!
I would highly recommend both Audrey and Shauna, they were fantastic and very talented.
How was your wedding planner…
Sandra Flavin (Wedding and Events Manager) was amazing. She was always available to answer all our questions and emails and arranged calls to discuss the wedding outside her working day hours. Sandra met us the day before the wedding and went through all the finer details. It was amazing; I knew I had nothing to worry about the day of the wedding. Sandra and Brian Lawlor (Food & Beverage Manager) ensured that everything was perfect. It was beyond perfect.
We stayed at Adare Manor for three nights, over the wedding and we were treated like royalty the whole time. All our Guests were blown away. The staff were so professional and friendly. The service was amazing, and the food was outstanding. I could not fault anything. The ballroom and drinks reception are so magnificent.
Our ceremony…
Our ceremony was held in the Grand Ballroom of Adare Manor. Romy from a Beautiful Ceremony was our celebrant.
Romy was amazing on the day and on the lead up to the wedding. She was so helpful and full of information. She made the ceremony very light hearted and really made us feel special.
We had Claire Heffernan on the harp during our ceremony, and she was amazing. Her voice and talent on the harp was so beautiful. Claire and Sharon Howley also played at our drinks reception and everyone comment on how good they were.
The Wedding dress…
My dress was designed by a boutique in Paddington Brisbane called When Freddie Met Lilly. I have two great friends Beverly and Michelle, who helped me find my dress (as my mum and sister were in Ireland).
The girls at When Freddie Met Lilly were amazing. I originally liked two dresses I tried on and couldn’t decide. Stephanie one of the designers told me she could design a dress that would incorporate the two dresses into a dress I would love.
Which they did. Vanessa (the owner) and her team listened to exactly what I wanted and created a beautiful dress. The dress was made from French lace and the team sewed individual Swarovski crystals and pearls all over it for me. I can’t imagine how long it took them! I also had a hand made veil which had the French lace sewn to the trim. They did an amazing job.
What our bridal party wore…
My beautiful bridesmaids Mary, Carol and Amanda wore dusty rose dresses from Cari’s Closet. The dresses were originally backless but altered by Athlone Dressmaker, Larrissa, who did an amazing job.
We chose our wedding photographer because…
I am so glad we chose The Fennells as our wedding photographers. As I live overseas, finding and selecting suppliers was a bit difficult for me as I do not know anyone! After reviewing their website, I knew they would suit us perfectly.
They were so helpful and full of info on the lead up to our Adare Manor wedding.
On our wedding day they were so relaxed but professional and very easy going! Nothing was rushed, and they had so much patience especially waiting on us having a few sips of bubbles between photos 😊
Our wedding theme/colours…
My Theme was dusty pink/rose gold. My engagement ring and wedding ring are rose gold. The Bridesmaids dresses were dusty rose and flower girls blush pink. I had a little bit of blush pink in the bridesmaids flowers and on our cake. I wanted to keep the colours simple.
Our honeymoon…
For our honeymoon we went to Dubai and then the Maldives. All I can say is AMAZING!!
My favourite part of our Adare Manor Wedding was…
Of course saying I do to my wonderful husband Adam. But aside from that was having the most and fun day with everyone I love in the most amazing place.
My piece of advice for other brides…
Enjoy the day it does by so quick… I know everyone says that but it does.. So take it all in and ENJOY!
